RTA Kitchen Cabinets in Olive Grey Super-Matte, Priced by the Linear Meter

Fourteen cartons to a ten-meter run at 1.65 m3 — about 400 linear meters in a 40HQ, with the worktop deliberately left to the fitter

A flat-pack kitchen is a freight decision before it is a design decision, and this run is built that way. Base units are 600 x 560 x 720 mm, wall units 600 x 320 x 720 mm, and a 600 x 560 x 2100 mm pantry, all cut from 18 mm HMR particle board with melamine faces, 1 mm ABS edging and olive grey super-matte fronts at about 5 gloss units. Assembly is Minifix cam-and-dowel with the housings pressed in at the factory. Ten meters pack to 1.65 m3 in 14 labeled cartons at 210 kg gross, about 400 linear meters in a 40HQ working from 68 m3 of usable cube.

Why Buyers Choose This Model

  • 600 x 560 x 720 mm bases, 600 x 320 x 720 mm walls and a 600 x 560 x 2100 mm pantry, cut on one drilling program so a module added in year two still lines up with the run
  • 18 mm HMR particle board, melamine on both faces, 1 mm ABS edging on all four edges — the banded edge, not the board, is what decides whether a sink cabinet survives five winters
  • Minifix cam-and-dowel with factory-inserted housings: a ten-meter run assembles in about four hours for one fitter, with no glue and no clamping time
  • Olive grey super-matte melamine at about 5 gloss units, a low-sheen grey-green that reads as a solid tone under 3000 K lighting instead of shifting warm the way a beige does
  • DTC 110 degree soft-close hinges at 50,000 cycles and 35 kg full-extension runners, specified per module so a drawer bank and a door base do not arrive with mismatched hardware
  • Fourteen cartons per ten meters at 1.65 m3 and 210 kg gross, about 400 linear meters per 40HQ and about 170 per 20GP, costed per linear meter of run rather than per cabinet
  • Worktop is quoted separately and is not in the carton: a carcass-only run avoids a fragile freight class and lets the dealer cut local stone, compact laminate or quartz against a real wall
  • Each carton carries module code, room position and a QR to the assembly drawing — the difference between a fitter who can build the run and a fitter waiting for a phone call

Specification Questions Buyers Ask

What actually sets the price per linear meter?
The module mix, before the finish. A meter of door-only base is a different cost object from a meter carrying a drawer bank, a corner carousel or a tall pantry, and the same finish can move thirty percent between two mixes. That is why a per-meter figure without the module list attached cannot be compared between suppliers: ask for the quotation with the module list and the carton count against it, and the number becomes checkable rather than indicative.
Is 400 linear meters per 40HQ realistic for a mixed order?
It is realistic for a run that fills the container evenly, which is what a straight run does. The number comes from 1.65 m3 per ten meters against roughly 68 m3 of usable cube in a 40HQ, so it already allows for stowage loss and pallets. What breaks it is mixing: basin cartons and assembled mirror cabinets stack badly above 1.8 m, so an order that is half vanities will not reach the kitchen figure. Load kitchens as the base of the stow and put the awkward cartons on top.
How much assembly does RTA really leave the dealer?
Four hours for a ten-meter run, one fitter, hand tools. Carcasses arrive with the cam housings pressed in and the drilling done, so the work is: square the box, insert the cams, tighten, fit hinges to the pre-drilled 32 mm line, hang doors, clip the plinth. What the dealer does not do is cut, drill or edge. In a market where a fitter costs more per hour than the freight per carton, that is the whole economic case for flat pack.
Will the dealer need a worktop template either way?
Yes, and that is the point of shipping carcass-only. A factory worktop is cut to a nominal drawing; a real French kitchen has out-of-square walls, a radiator, a window sill at an awkward height and a hob that has to sit over a specific base. Local fabrication against a template taken after the carcasses are level removes the single most common source of remake claims on an imported kitchen.
What board documentation comes with the container?
Per production batch: the board supplier's declaration for the 18 mm HMR panel, the E1 formaldehyde class statement and the ABS edge specification, plus the carton list with per-carton dimensions, net and gross weight and the module inside each one. If the order is destined for a French or German project, say so at quotation stage, because the formaldehyde and packaging paperwork is decided by the destination market and is easier to attach to the production batch than to reconstruct after the container has sailed.
