1000mm Brushed Bronze Aluminum Vanity with a One-Piece Solid Surface Basin

Two cartons at 0.155 m3 and 33 kg gross, about 430 sets to a 40HQ — an aluminum vanity costed by the cubic meter, not by the showroom

This vanity exists because a wood-core cabinet and a wet room are a slow argument. The body is a 1.2 mm aluminum profile frame with 18 mm aluminum honeycomb side panels, finished in brushed bronze anodizing at 15 to 20 micron, so there is no board core to swell when a shower runs. Drawer fronts carry a 4 mm aluminum skin over the same honeycomb, hung on DTC 35 kg full-extension runners. The top is one-piece solid surface at 1000 x 470 mm with the bowl molded in, so the joint that normally fails does not exist. It ships in two cartons at 0.155 m3 and 33 kg gross, about 430 sets to a 40HQ.

Why Buyers Choose This Model

  • 1000 x 470 x 520 mm wall-hung body on a steel rail with two M8 through-bolts, rated to 100 kg static load, so the unit goes up after tiling without blocking out the wall
  • 1.2 mm aluminum profile frame with 18 mm aluminum honeycomb side panels — no particle board core, so a leak under the basin cannot delaminate the carcass
  • Brushed bronze anodizing at 15 to 20 micron, tested to 500 hours of neutral salt spray, which is the finish that survives a coastal apartment and a chlorine-heavy bathroom
  • One-piece solid surface top at 1000 x 470 mm with the bowl molded in, a 45 mm waste and one 35 mm tap punch — no silicone joint between top and basin to redo in year three
  • Two DTC 35 kg full-extension soft-close runners rated to 50,000 cycles, with 5.5 mm aluminum drawer boxes that do not need a metal side profile to stay square
  • Anodized surfaces are color-fast: the bronze tone is in the metal, not a foil or a powder coat, so a replacement front ordered two years later matches without a color card
  • Cabinet 0.100 m3 at 21 kg and top 0.055 m3 at 12 kg — 0.155 m3 and 33 kg gross per set, about 430 sets per 40HQ against roughly 220 assembled at 0.30 m3
  • Aluminum carcass and drawer boxes separate cleanly at end of life, which is the answer a French or German buyer needs when the tender asks for a recyclable furniture breakdown

Specification Questions Buyers Ask

Does an aluminum carcass need different wall fixings from a wooden vanity?
The load path is different, so the fixing is different. A wood vanity spreads its weight across a full back panel; this one hangs on a steel rail that carries the load into two M8 through-bolts, rated to 100 kg static. That means the wall, not the cabinet, is the variable: on block or brick the rail fixes with the supplied anchors, on a stud wall the two bolts must land on studs or on a plywood pattress fixed behind the tile. Ask the installer to confirm the substrate before the tiling is closed up, because retrofitting a pattress through finished tile is the expensive version of the same job.
What does the anodized layer protect against, and what does it not?
Anodizing is an oxide layer grown out of the aluminum itself, 15 to 20 micron thick, so it does not chip off the way a paint film can. It resists the humidity, soap and light chlorine load of a domestic bathroom, and it is specified at 500 hours of neutral salt spray for coastal work. What it does not do is survive an abrasive cleaner: scouring cream and a green pad will dull the brushed grain permanently. The maintenance instruction that matters is a damp cloth and a neutral detergent, and no acid-based descaler left standing on the surface.
Why a solid surface top instead of a ceramic basin?
Because the failure mode of a ceramic top on a vanity is the joint, not the ceramic. A one-piece solid surface top has the bowl molded into the same sheet, so there is no silicone line around the basin to go black, and no cut-out to seal. It also survives the knocks a family bathroom delivers: a dropped hairdryer or a shampoo bottle chips vitreous china, while solid surface can be sanded and re-polished on site. The trade is heat — a hot pan or a curling iron left on the surface will mark it, which is worth stating in the care leaflet.
Can the width change to 800 or 1200 mm without new tooling?
Yes, from 600 to 1200 mm in 100 mm steps. The frame is cut from 1.2 mm aluminum profile on a CNC saw and the honeycomb panels are cut on the same nesting program, so a width change is a cutting-list change rather than a mould. The top is the only part with a fixed tool: the solid surface sheet is cut and the bowl is routed on a template, so any width above 700 mm uses the same bowl and the same tap position. A mixed program of 800, 1000 and 1200 mm can therefore ship in one container without a separate minimum per width.
How does this compare with a painted MDF vanity in a 40HQ?
On cube, about two to one. This set is 0.155 m3 flat-packed against roughly 0.30 m3 for an assembled painted MDF vanity of the same width, so a 40HQ at about 68 m3 usable carries around 430 sets instead of around 220. On weight the gap closes, because aluminum is not lighter than board once the honeycomb and the top are counted — 33 kg gross here against about 38 kg for the MDF equivalent. The saving is freight and replacement, not mass: a swollen MDF carcass is a warranty claim, a wet aluminum one is a wipe-down.
