Outdoor Cabinets

Aluminum cabinetry for patios, pool decks and rooftop kitchens

Outdoor cabinets fail for one reason: the material. A timber or MFC carcass that performs indoors will take up moisture through every hinge hole and cut edge once it sits on a patio, and within two seasons the doors no longer close squarely. Our outdoor range removes the material that fails — the carcass is 1.0 mm aluminum honeycomb composite with powder-coated faces, the frames are 1.2 mm extruded aluminum welded at the corners, and the hardware is 304 stainless.

The range is built for three settings that share the same requirement: covered patios attached to a house, pool decks where chlorine and splash are constant, and rooftop terraces exposed to sun and salt air. Units are base cabinets and tall storage in 720 mm carcass height, with doors, drawers or open bays, so a dealer can sell a straight bar run, an L-shaped cook station or a wall of storage from one program.

What we do not include is deliberate. Countertops are cut locally by a fabricator to the exact grill and sink cut-outs, because appliance heights vary between brands and a factory top would either be wrong or force the customer onto one appliance supplier. Grills, sinks, fridges and lighting are quoted separately for the same reason.

How to Specify This Range

  • Specify the exposure, not just the color. A covered patio and an unsheltered pool deck need the same carcass but different fixing: exposed units should be anchored to the slab and to the wall, because wind load on a 3 m run of empty cabinets is real.
  • Ask for the door substrate in writing. Aluminum-framed doors with a 1.0 mm infill panel behave differently from an aluminum-skinned board, and only the first one survives a coastal season without edge swell.
  • Keep the countertop decision with the local fabricator. It shortens the lead time, removes a freight risk on stone, and lets the installer match the top to the appliances actually purchased.

Buyer Questions

What is the difference between your outdoor cabinets and an indoor MFC kitchen?
Material and failure mode. An indoor kitchen uses 16 mm melamine-faced chipboard priced on boards and edge banding; an outdoor cabinet uses a 1.0 mm aluminum honeycomb carcass with a welded 1.2 mm frame, so there is no fibre to absorb water and nothing to delaminate. The outdoor range costs roughly twice a melamine carcass per linear meter, which is why it is sold into the outdoor program rather than the interior one.
Do the cabinets need a roof or cover?
No. The construction is waterproof, so a covered patio is a comfort decision rather than a requirement. What we do recommend is that clients in coastal or high-humidity regions specify 304 stainless hardware — which is our standard — and rinse salt deposits off the powder coat twice a year, the same maintenance an aluminum window frame needs.
Can you machine openings for a specific grill, sink or fridge?
Yes. Send the appliance cut-out schedule and weights with the inquiry and we return a carcass drawing showing where the reinforcement lands. Cut-outs are machined at the factory, which is why appliance selection needs to be settled before the order rather than after delivery.
What sizes and configurations are available?
Standard carcass height is 720 mm with adjustable stainless feet from 100 to 140 mm. Widths run from 300 mm fillers to 900 mm units, and the range includes door bases, drawer banks, sink bases, tall storage and bar units. Custom widths are available on the same tooling at 20 sets per size.
How does it ship and how many fit in a container?
Flat-packed in cartons, five per 3.0 m run at 0.62 m³ total, which puts about 105 runs in a 40HQ and lets a distributor hold several colors without storing assembled carcasses. Assembly on site needs a screwdriver, a mallet and a level; cams and bolts are pre-inserted at the factory.
