900mm Wall-Hung Vanity with a One-Piece Vitreous China Basin Top in Dove Grey

Two cartons, 0.139 m3, about 480 sets to a 40HQ — a fired china top costed by the cubic meter, not by the showroom

The case for this unit is a joint that does not exist. The deck and the bowl are one vitreous china casting, fired and glazed as a single piece, so the seam where water stands on a wood top and the silicone bead turns black is not there to maintain. The carcass is 18 mm EN 312 P3 board in dove grey super-matte melamine, edge banded on four sides, hung on a steel rail with two through-bolts. Two cartons at 0.139 m3 and 32 kg gross, about 480 sets to a 40HQ — the number a merchant actually buys on.

Why Buyers Choose This Model

  • 900 x 460 x 520 mm carcass on a steel hanging rail with two M8 through-bolts rated to 100 kg static, so the unit goes onto finished tile without a pattress or blocking out
  • 18 mm EN 312 P3 board rated for load-bearing use in humid conditions in E1 emission class, 1 mm ABS edge on all four sides, so a weeping trap is a mop job and not a delamination claim
  • One-piece vitreous china top-basin fired at about 1,200 C, 22 mm deck and 26 mm apron, glazed over the full face and the underside, so there is no cut edge for a fitter to seal on site
  • Bowl 480 x 330 x 125 mm with 11.5 L to overflow, a molded slotted overflow and a 45 mm waste, drilled for one 35 mm tap hole as standard
  • Two DTC 110 degree clip-on hinges with 3D cam adjustment, rated to 40,000 cycles, so a door that drops in year three is a screwdriver job rather than a warranty call
  • Dove grey super-matte at about 0.6 gloss units, a decorative paper pressed into the melamine rather than a lacquer film on top of it, so a scratch reads as a lighter grey line and not a white edge
  • Two cartons at 0.139 m3 and 32 kg gross with the china cradled in molded EPS — about 480 sets per 40HQ against roughly 300 for a single-carton unit at 0.22 m3
  • Flat-pack carcass on cam and dowel, 18 minutes per unit with numbered panels and a template in the carton, so a distributor stocks panels and builds against confirmed orders

Specification Questions Buyers Ask

Is a fired china top safe to hang on a wall-hung carcass, or does it force a floor-standing unit?
It is safe, and the load path is the part to get right rather than the material. The china top on this unit weighs about 15 kg and the carcass about 17 kg, so the rail is carrying roughly 32 kg of dead load plus whatever a household puts in the cabinet. The two M8 through-bolts are rated to 100 kg static, which leaves a wide margin on block or brick. The failure mode on any wall-hung vanity is the wall, not the cabinet: on a stud or drylined wall the bolts must land on studs or on a pattress behind the board, and that has to be decided before the tile goes up. A floor-standing unit hides a bad wall; a wall-hung one does not, and that is the whole reason the fixing schedule belongs on the drawing.
What does E1 actually measure, and is it still the class a UK specifier names?
E1 is a formaldehyde emission class, measured by the chamber method in EN 717-1 and expressed as a steady-state concentration in the air of the test chamber, at 0.124 mg per cubic meter or less. It is a panel property, not a cabinet property, and it applies to the particleboard and MDF in the carcass rather than to the china top or the hinges. Great Britain kept the EU-derived test methods and limit values in force after Brexit, so an E1 declaration to EN 717-1 is still the document a UK merchant or specifier expects to see with the shipment, and a factory that can only describe its board as low emission without naming the test has given you a claim rather than a certificate.
Can the china top be drilled for two separate taps instead of a mixer?
Yes, and the decision has to be on the purchase order rather than on site. The deck is drilled after firing and glazing against a jig, so a top ordered with one 35 mm hole cannot be re-drilled for a pair on 180 mm centers without cutting through the glaze and leaving two raw edges around the spindles, which is exactly where a china top stains first. Two holes on 180 mm centers suits a traditional pair of pillar taps; a single 35 mm hole suits a monobloc mixer; no hole at all suits a wall-mounted spout, which is common in UK bathrooms where the pipework is in the wall. State which of the three you want, per model, and the drilling is fixed for the life of the program.
How much does the two-carton split actually save on freight?
It saves the volume that a molded china top would otherwise claim. A glazed top cannot be stacked against a carcass, so a single-carton unit has to be boxed around the china with foam at every corner and that air is what you ship. Split into two cartons, the carcass travels as flat panels at 0.048 m3 and the china travels in a 0.091 m3 cradle, for 0.139 m3 together. A single-carton vanity of the same size lands nearer 0.22 m3, which is about 300 sets to a 40HQ against 480 for this one. The trade is a second carton to handle at destination, and on a container basis that handling is a few minutes against 180 extra sets.
What is the process if a china top arrives broken?
Photograph it in the carton before it is unpacked any further, because a claim needs the packaging as much as the part. Damage in transit is normally visible as a crushed corner or a foot print on the carton, and a break with an intact carton points at handling at destination rather than at the packing. Send the photo, the carton label and the carton count from the packing list, and the replacement is quoted against the next order rather than shipped alone, because a single china top by air costs more than the part. The practical control is on the packing side: molded EPS at eight points, a minimum 40 mm wall to the carton face, and a drop test on the packed carton before a new size is released.
